Magic Show in Las Vegas

February 13 - 16, 2007
www.Magiconline.com

Pedestal will excite buyers with new collections and launches  from its inaugural exhibitors, which include: Alexandra Lozov, Bon Bon Rouge, Dirty Pretty Dolls, Eva Danielle, Grace & Cello, Halé Bob, Kendra Duck, Kut from the Kloth, Marisa K, Max & Riley, Persaman, Project Alabama, Saffron Rare Threads, Sharagano, Sweet Pea, Tucker by Phillipe Marcel, WR 9000, and Yellowfield 8.

Project Alabama will launch their collection of tees, tanks, camisoles, hoodies and more at WWDMAGIC.  “We chose to be a part of Pedestal because it is a smaller more intimate space for young designers.  It is our hope that through participating in Pedestal, we will attract retailers who are looking for unique brands with quality products like ours,” comments Project Alabama’s Erin Dempsey.

She continues, “The collection we will be showing in Pedestal draws from the basic themes and couture influences of our handmade line.  For fall 2006, feminine shapes include fluted sleeves, references to bustles and lace and ruffle detailing.  Mixed media textile designs are heavily influenced by 18th century fabrics prints such as roses, toiles and hunting themes.  It is our hope that this line will provide a creative product that is more affordable and, therefore, available to a larger audience.”

Pedestal’s minimalist design includes the central lounge, a bold chandelier and a circular DJ booth featuring all-female DJs spinning live each day. Guests can relax between appointments in the lounge and grab a bite and a beverage at the petite café.

“Pedestal answers the needs of buyers in search of new collection-driven resources in the women’s contemporary market.” said Camille Candella, MAGIC International’s Marketing Director. “Buyers will enjoy all of the special details – from dramatic white tufted back walls to beaded side walls. This is a beautifully appointed environment designed as the perfect arena for these designers.”

Surrounding Pedestal are additional women’s contemporary resources which include Charlotte Tarantola, Johnny Was, True Meaning, Shine New York, Streets Ahead, Sanctuary Clothing, and many more.

Paris Hilton Sues for Items Found in Storage

Paris Hilton filed a federal lawsuit Monday, seeking to shut down a Web site that displays personal photos, videos, diaries, and other belongings once kept at a storage facility.
In her lawsuit, Hilton said she put her possessions in storage two years ago when she and her sister, Nicky, moved out of a house that had been burglarized.
The 25-year-old heiress said a moving company was supposed to pay the storage fees and was "shocked and surprised" to learn her belongings were sold at a public auction.
